MOTHER'S CABBAGE SOUP 
1 lb. beef stew meat
1/2 onion
Salt to taste
1 head of cabbage
1 c. ketchup
Vinegar or lemon juice

Cook the stew meat in a small amount of water with 1/2 onion and salt. After an hour or so, add a head of cabbage, cut up (not in chunks). Add at least 1 cup of ketchup with a small amount of either vinegar or lemon juice. You must taste to get exactly the flavor you want. Add more of ketchup or salt or vinegar in lemon juice. Cover and simmer 2 or 3 hours. Better the next day.
