1 c. salt
1/2 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. boiling water
1 drop food coloring
1 drop "perfume"

Mix salt and cornstarch. Add boiling water and coloring. Cook over moderate heat until thick, stirring constantly. Add perfume and mix well. When cool enough to handle, form mixture into balls. Run a thick pin through the center of each ball and place upright on a corrugated piece of cardboard to dry. String on heavy thread.
