OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. hot water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. white flour
1/2 c. Grist Mill flour
1 tsp. salt

Pour hot water over oatmeal in small mixing bowl. Let stand while preparing cake mixture.

Cream in large bowl; butter and sugars. Add eggs, cinnamon and baking soda. Mix well. Add oatmeal mixture and flour with salt. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes in 9x13x2 inch greased and floured pan.

Add coconut-nut topping as it comes out of the oven and brown under broiler a few minutes.
