HOT DOG BUN BREAD STICKS | |
2 sticks butter, or 1 c. 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, or to taste Hot dog buns Cut each bun into 4 slices lengthwise. They will cut smoother if you freeze them first. Melt the butter and garlic powder together. Spoon over each bread stick and place in a single layer on cookie sheets. Bake at 275 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, turning the sticks one time, when they are well dried out on the top side, and cook until thoroughly dried. These may be made well in advance, put in plastic bags and frozen until ready to use. Just heat in the microwave when ready to serve. You may also use thick sliced bread cut in 4 or 5 slices and cooked in the same way. |
