KOLAC (Filled Rolls) | |
1 1/2 cakes yeast 1/2 c. milk, lukewarm 1 tbsp. sugar 6 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 1 pt. (2 c.) milk, scalded then cooled 2 eggs, well beaten 1/2 lb. butter, soft Dissolve yeast and tablespoon of sugar in 1/2 cup milk. Sift flour, salt, sugar into large mixing bowl, adding milk and eggs. Mix well together. Add yeast mixture and butter. Turn out on floured board and knead until dough is smooth. Set aside to rise for 2 1/2 hours. Turn out on lightly floured board and let rise again, about 1/2 hour. Divide dough into 6 equal parts rolling each into a rectangle. Spread with desired filling, nut, poppy seed, prune butter (obtainable already prepared in pan) and roll. Bake in greased pan 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. |
