RUM BALLS 
1 c. crushed vanilla wafers
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/2 c. fine granulated sugar
Red candied cherry halves (if desired)
1/4 c. rum

Mix crumbs, confectioners' sugar, 1 cup of nuts, and cocoa. Add corn syrup and rum; mix well. Shape in 1 inch balls. Roll half in granulated sugar and rest in the 1/2 cup nuts. If using cherry halves, moisten 1 side of cherries in corn syrup and press on each ball. Makes 3 dozen.
