CORN CHOWDER 
1/4 c. diced bacon
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 (10 oz.) pkg. cut corn, frozen
2 med. potatoes, peeled and diced
1 (15 oz.) can chicken broth
1 pt. half and half

Brown bacon in a large saucepan, drain. Add onion, celery and green pepper. Saute together about 5 minutes. Add chicken broth, potatoes, corn and thyme. Simmer 30 minutes. In separate pan melt butter, add flour and stir until smooth. Add half and half and combine with other ingredients. Simmer additional 10 minutes, uncovered. Serves 6.
