“HABICHUELAS GUISADAS” IS IN:

HABICHUELAS GUISADAS 
1 large can small red or pinto beans
2 cups cubed ham
1/2 cup homemade sofrito
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
salt and pepper
1 packet sazon goya
10 olives smashed with some juice
1 can tomato sauce
2 to 3 cups broth

In a pot, add olive oil and brown ham then remove. Add garlic and sauté for 20 seconds. Add sofrito, olives and tomato sauce and simmer for 1 minute. Add spices and stir. Add beans and remaining ingredients and cook for 45 minutes.

If too watery, turn up heat on high 1 minute before beans are done and stir to reduce liquid. If too dry, add tablespoons of water or stock and stir til it reaches your consistency.
