ONION CHEESE BREAD 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. biscuit baking mix
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
2 tbsp. snipped parsley or 1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes
2 tbsp. butter

Combine onion and 1 tablespoon butter in small bowl. Microwave at high (100%) until onion is tender, about 2 minutes. Set onion aside.

Preheat oven at 400°F. Mix baking mix, milk, and egg until just moistened in medium bowl. Stir in onion, 1/2 cup cheese and the parsley. Spread in greased square baking pan, 8x8-inches. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 15 minutes.

Makes 6-8 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
