APPLE PAN DOWDY 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can Comstock apples
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat. Mix and sift dry ingredients (flour, salt and baking powder) into a second bowl. Add flour to sugar mixture alternating the flour with the milk. On the bottom of pan sprinkle brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Arrange apple slices on top then pour batter into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
