APPLE CRUMBLE 
1 c. brown sugar
5 oz. all-purpose white flour
4 to 6 c. cooking apples (1 1/2 to 2 lbs.), peeled, cored & thinly sliced
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. lemon rind, grated

Combine 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 ounce of flour in mixing bowl. Squeeze lemon juice over apple slices. Toss apples with sugar mixture. Put in ovenproof baking dish.

Thoroughly mix butter, remaining flour and cinnamon. Add lemon rind and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until top is golden. Serve warm solo or with ice cream.
