SEVEN LAYER SALAD | |
1 head of lettuce 1 (10 oz.) pkg. of frozen peas 1 green peppers, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped Carrots (optional, to add some color) 1 1/2 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise 1 c. sour cream 1 pkg. HIDDEN VALLEY® dressing mix 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1 jar bacon bits Rinse, drain and shred lettuce. Put it in bottom of your serving dish. Then spread chopped green pepper over the lettuce. Do the same with chopped celery, then optional carrots, then frozen peas. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream and dressing. Mix thoroughly. Spread on top of prepared vegetables. Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Bacon bits may be sprinkled on top just prior to serving if you want them crunchy. If you prefer them softer, add just after the cheese. This is a very pretty dish when prepared and served in a clear glass or plastic bowl. It can also be prepared and served in a sheet cake pan. |
