2 eggs, separated
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. peeled and grated apples
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Beat egg yolks; sift sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix sifted ingredients with egg yolks; add grated apples, nuts, and flavorings. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour mixture into greased 6 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Serves 8.
