CARAMEL BROWNIES 
1 box German chocolate cake mix (18 oz.)
1 pkg. caramels (14 oz.)
2/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted butter
Semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz.)
1 c. nuts (opt.)

1. Stir by hand cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts.

2. Press 1/2 of dough into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 minutes.

3. Pour chocolate chips over hot baked dough.

4. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in saucepan.

5. Spread caramel mix over chocolate chips (glop on first and gently spread).

6. Form remaining dough into top layer on wax paper and carefully turn over onto caramel to form top layer.

7. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and refrigerate 30 minutes before cutting.
