BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE | |
1 c. (1/2 lb.) butter 3 c. sugar 5 med. eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. all purpose flour 1 c. thick buttermilk 2/3 tsp. baking soda Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Cream well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flavoring. Add flour alternately with buttermilk to which soda is added. Bake in 10 inch tube pan (greased only on bottom) 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 10 minutes and turn out on cake stand or foil covered board. |
