BUTTERMILK PECAN POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Sift together baking powder and flour. Mix soda with buttermilk. Cream Crisco and salt. Add sugar gradually. Beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Fold in flour and buttermilk. Bake in large tube pan which has been lightly greased and floured. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
