OLD FASHIONED JELLIED APPLES | |
6 med. size apples 6 sticks 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. light corn syrup 1/3 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. white vinegar 1/2 tsp. red food coloring In a large, heavy saucepan stir sugar, corn syrup, water and vinegar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Bring to slow boil over medium heat and without stirring until temperature reaches 300 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring. Coat apples (after inserting sticks) quickly by tipping pan and twirling apple. Place on sheet of waxed paper. |
