OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or softened butter
3 eggs
1 tbsp. baking cocoa
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips, divided
3/4 c. walnuts, chopped

In a mixing bowl pour hot water over oatmeal; allow to stand 10 minutes. Add sugar and butter, stirring until butter melts. Add eggs, one at a time; mix well after each addition. Sift flour, baking soda and cocoa together. Add to batter; mix well. Stir in 1/2 of the chocolate chips. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Sprinkle top of cake with walnuts and remaining chips. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until pick comes out dry.
