BAD ASS BBQ RIBS OR CHICKEN 
4 full racks baby back pork ribs (1/2 rack servings, so 8 portions) OR
8 chicken leg quarters (with thigh still attached)
1/2 (2 liter bottle) Pepsi (not Coke! There is more caramel in Pepsi)
1 quart apple cider
1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup granulated onion
2 tbsp. black pepper
about 12 bay leaves
2 tbsp. Paul Prudhomme's "Blackened Magic" (it's a spice every store has)
1-2 (16 oz. ea.) bottles Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce

Put ribs/chicken in a large metal roasting pan. Cover with the Pepsi and cider vinegar, if it isn't enough to cover all the meat, add some water. Add your dry spices, just throw them in. Cover the pan with foil twice and put into oven at 400°F. Let them cook for AT LEAST 2 hours!

Strain the liquid and let cool for 20 minutes before you take them out of the pan or they will break apart and you will have riblets instead of racks of ribs.

You can put them on the grill from here, sauce them first. Grill until the sauce is slightly charred.
