SLOVAC NUT ROLLS | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 1/4 lb. butter 1 egg 4 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add egg, salt, and flour. Mix well. Divide into fourths. Wrap in wax paper. Chill overnight. Roll, like pie crust, in granulated sugar. Cut with large round cookie cutter. Fill (see below). FILLING: 1 lb. ground walnuts or pecans 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg Enough water to make stiff paste Put a heaping teaspoon on each cookie. Fold over and crimp edges. Cut small slit in top of each cookie. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen. |
