PARADISE PUMPKIN PIE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 unbaked (9 inch) pastry shell
1 1/4 c. cooked mashed pumpkin
1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt
Maple-flavored syrup
Pecan halves

Beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy. Add 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beat until smooth. Pour into pastry shell. Chill at least 2 hours.

Combine next 7 ingredients, beat until smooth. Carefully spoon over cream cheese mixture in pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Brush with maple syrup and garnish with pecan halves. Yield: one 9 inch pie.
