NEVER FAIL CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. shortening 1 egg, beaten 5 tbsp. water 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 tbsp. minced onion (optional) 1 chicken, stewed and deboned Mix flour, salt, shortening, egg, and water. When a soft dough forms, divide into parts. Roll out thin and let sheets of dough rise for 20 minutes. Cut in small strips and drop into chicken broth to which has been added soup and onion (optional). Have chicken stewed and deboned. Cook dumplings for 15 minutes. Add chicken pieces after dumplings have cooked. Let simmer and serve. Can add a can of evaporated milk for richer flavor. |
