SNICKER DOODLES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar (opt.)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar + 1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream first three ingredients. Sift together flour, tartar, soda, salt and add to cream mixture. Refrigerate (easier to handle). Roll dough into balls and roll in sugar and cinnamon. Bake on ungreased sheet at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. 5 dozen.
