WILTED CABBAGE 
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
4 c. shredded cabbage

Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon, and set aside. Add onion and next 4 ingredients, stirring until blended. Stir in cabbage. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with reserved bacon. Yields 4-6 servings.
