SAUCEPAN PINEAPPLE BARS 
A Sweet, Crisp Bar.

1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup drained, crushed pineapple

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt margarine in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add sugars and lemon juice. Blend. Stir in flour and baking powder. Add egg and beat well. Add nuts and crushed pineapple, and stir lightly to combine. Pour into greased 9x9-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes. Do not overbake.

Cool in pan. Cut into bars at serving time.

Makes 18 (1x3-inch) bars.
