I saw the comments about cookies being too sweet so I added 1/4 cup of oats to mine. I also used brown sugar instead of white sugar because I didnt realize I was out of white sugar before I started. Threw in some choc chips as well and they came out great!

Have used this recipe for years to make peanut butter blossoms. Omit the rolling in sugar. Just plop them on the baking sheet. As soon as you pull them from the oven, press unwrapped hershey's kisses onto and let cool. Kisses will melt, but will also retain their shape, so let them cool properly!

I wrote this recipe up almost exactly like this, except I added 1 tsp. of vanilla to it, 30 years ago for a Church cookbook. It was great then, and they are still great. Kid friendly cookies. Little hands LOVE to roll them up into balls. And at Christmas time you can roll them in different sprinkles.

Best and most simple recipe ever! I've used this recipe a million times always with great results. I've found that if you want the cookies to be softer, use brown sugar instead of granulated. ; Either way they come out amazing and as simple as they are, you can afford to play around with them a bit :)
