APFEL KUCHEN 
1 1/3 sticks butter (oleo)
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
Grated peel of lemon
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 or 3 apples, peeled, sliced in thin wedges

Combine butter and sugar. Beat until creamy. Stir in egg and grated lemon peel. Sift together flour and baking powder and gradually add to mixture. Grease and flour a spingform pan and press dough into pan.

Arrange apples into concentric circles on dough and sprinkle with a little lemon juice. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until crust is golden.
