IDENE'S TEA CAKES 
1 lb. butter
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
6 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs
3 c. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice or any juice preferred

Sift all dry ingredients 3 times. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix until smooth. Add juice; mix. Add flour mixture; should be stiff enough to knead. Add more flour if necessary.

On floured area, knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic (no longer gummy). Form into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake until brown. Watch carefully. Can add nuts to batter.
