OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
1 scant c. butter
1 scant c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. sweet milk
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp. baking powder
Vanilla or lemon extract to taste

Cream butter and sugar, add egg. Sift flour, baking powder and salt, add with milk to batter of sugar and egg mixture. Add extra flour to make the dough stiff enough to roll for cutting. Bake at 400 degrees.
