GRANDMA'S CHOP SUEY | |
1 lb. beef, cubed 1 lb. pork, cubed 1/2 c. water 3 or 4 onions (thick slices) 1 or 2 stalks celery, sliced 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 (lg. size) bottle soy sauce Pinch of salt 2 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. Bead molasses 1/2 c. water Brown pork in skillet. Add beef and brown. Add grease if necessary. Add 1/2 cup water and sugar. Cover and simmer until tender. Add onions and celery. Simmer 30 minutes more. Mix soy sauce, salt, cornstarch, molasses, and water together. Add to meat (when meat is fully cooked). Stir gently until it thickens. Serve over rice. |
