BEEF AND BLACK-EYED PEAS 
2 1/4 c. black-eyed peas, cooked
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic
1 pt. tomatoes, cut up
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. tomato ketchup
1 tsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese

In a skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic. Drain. Stir in peas, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Simmer 15 minutes. Blend ketchup and flour into mixture. Cook and stir until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat and put in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Black-eyed peas are supposed to bring you good luck if they are eaten on New Year's Day.
