BERTHA WOODS PEANUT BUTTER
COOKIES
 
5 c. flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. shortening
2 c. peanut butter
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs

Sift flour; add soda, baking powder and sift again. Cream shortening, add peanut butter to creamed shortening and add sugars. Add well beaten eggs. Mix flour into batter. Mix well. Form into balls, one inch in diameter. Place on cookie sheet. Flatten with fork (# Grid pattern). Bake in 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. This recipe makes 200 cookies so I usually cut it in half.
