CORN MUFFIN RING 
1 c. self rising corn meal
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 tbsp. shortening (melted)
1 tsp. sugar

Mix dry ingredients. Mix buttermilk and egg and add to dry ingredients. Pour melted oil and mix well. Bake at 450 degrees until slightly brown. Bake in hot greased rings or muffin cups.
