MOTHER'S RECIPE FOR TOMATO SOUP
CAKE
 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, unbeaten
1 can tomato soup
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. each cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, beat thoroughly. Stir soda into soup - add to mixture. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Beat well. Stir in raisins and nuts. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 45 minutes at 300 degrees F.
