PIZZA CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef 2 (8 oz.) cans pizza sauce 4 oz. can undrained mushrooms 1 tbsp. crushed dried oregano 1 tsp. garlic salt 2 c. rotini, cooked and drained (this = 1/2 of 1 lb. box) 2/3 c. milk 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz.) You may use macaroni instead of rotini. May use spaghetti sauce instead of pizza sauce. I use 15 1/2 ounce jar of any brand. Brown beef and drain. Stir in pizza sauce, mushrooms, oregano and garlic salt. Bring to boil and remove from heat. Combine cooked rotini and milk. In a large casserole (3 quart) layer 1/2 each of rotini, meat sauce and cheese. Repeat layers, ending with cheese on top. Bake covered in 350 degree oven for 25 or 30 minutes or until bubbly hot. I usually use a bit more hamburger, too. This may be put together and stored in refrigerator a few days or may be frozen. Also, leftovers may be frozen for later if there is any! |
