FRENCH KRAUT 
1/2 gal. vinegar
6 c. sugar
6 tsp. salt
6 tsp. mustard seed
6 tsp. whole allspice
5 tsp. turmeric
6 tsp. celery seed
6 heads cabbage, shredded
6 red peppers, shredded
6 green peppers, shredded

Put spices in a bag. Bring to a boil in a saucepan the vinegar, spices, salt and sugar. Pour over shredded cabbage and peppers. Let stand 24 hours. May be canned.
