BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. sliced peeled apples
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Crust: Cream flour and butter. Add vanilla. Work in flour. Spread dough onto bottom and 1 1/2 inches up sides of 9 inch springform pan.

Filling: Mix all together well. Pour into pastry-lined pan.

Topping: Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon. Spoon apples over cream cheese. Sprinkle with nuts.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes and 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Refrigerate leftovers.
