MAGIC FRUIT CAKE 
1 (9 oz.) pkg. Borden's None Such mince meat
1/2 c. water
1 c. walnut meats, coarsely chopped
1 c. (8 oz.) maraschino cherries, coarsely chopped
1 can (1 1/3 c.) Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Break mince meat into small pieces and put in 2-quart saucepan. Add water. Place over heat and stir until lumps are thoroughly broken. Boil briskly 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Add nuts, candied fruit, Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk, and egg; blend well. Stir in flour and baking soda, until just blended.

Pour mixture into 9x4x3 inch loaf pan which has been greased, waxed paper lined and greased again. Bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched with finger and top is golden brown. Makes a 9x5x3 inch loaf cake.
