POPPY SEED BREAD | |
3 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. milk 1 1/3 c. oil 1 1/2 tbsp. poppy seed 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract Mix all ingredients together and beat 2 minutes. Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Remove from pans and top with glaze while still hot. GLAZE: Mix together 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Pour over hot loaves. |
