FRUIT PIZZA | |
Roll any sugar cookie dough to the size of your pizza pan or serving tray. SOUR CREAM SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE: Cream 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Mix 1 teaspoon vanilla with 1/3 cup sour cream. Sift together following dry ingredients: 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 2 teaspoons baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the sour cream mixture alternating them. Refrigerate dough for 12 hours or more. Then, roll out as directed, making enough for 2 fruit pizzas. Bake at 350 degrees. FRUIT PIZZA TOPPING: Cream about 12 oz. cream cheese with 2 cups Cool Whip. You may vary your amounts of both Cool Whip and cream cheese. Cream 2-3 tablespoons fruit juice (pineapple) with the above cheese mixture. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled sugar cookie disc. Top the cheese spread with VERY WELL DRAINED fruits, fresh, frozen or even canned. Be sure fruit pieces are bite-sized pieces. Fruit suggestions to try include: pineapple, apples, bananas, white and dark grapes, strawberries, maraschino cherries, oranges, mandarin oranges too, grapefruit (sweet is best), pecans, walnuts, blueberries, blackberries, even coconut! This looks absolutely gorgeous and it tastes super! |
