QUICK CHILI 
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef
4 c. (2 No. 2 cans) red kidney beans
1 can tomato soup
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Saute onion in hot shortening until golden. Add ground beef and saute until brown, breaking up with fork as it cooks. Drain off fat. Stir in other ingredients. Simmer 20 minutes to blend flavor. Serves 6
