MEATBALLS AND TOMATO SAUCE OVER
RICE
 
1 pkg. dehydrated onion soup
1 1/4 c. water
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/8-1/4 tsp. thyme
Pepper to taste

Combine onion soup, water and 3/4 of the tomato sauce in a saucepan. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Mix together the ground beef, seasonings and remaining tomato sauce. Shape into walnut size balls and drop into sauce. Simmer gently, uncovered for 30 minutes, turning meatballs occasionally. Serve over cooked rice. 6 servings.
