SCHOOL BEAN CHOWDER 
1 lb. or 2 1/2 c. pinto beans
2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 med. onion, chopped
1 tsp. garlic
1 2/3 c. tomato puree
1 c. dry bread crumbs

Cook beans until tender and done. Add chili powder and salt. While beans are cooking, combine meat, onions and garlic; brown in skillet on top of stove, stirring frequently until done. Add puree, chili powder, salt and bread crumbs. Simmer 15 minutes, will be thick. Combine meat mixture and beans.
