HAM AND BROCCOLI ROYALE 
1 c. uncooked rice, cooked
2 (10 oz.) pkg. broccoli, cooked
6 tbsp. butter
2 c. fresh bread crumbs
2 med. onions, chopped fine
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. milk
1 1/2 lbs. cooked ham, cubed
8 oz. white Cheddar cheese

Spoon rice into 9x13 inch pan. Layer broccoli over rice. Melt butter in large frying pan. Measure out 2 tablespoons and sprinkle on bread crumbs in small bowl. Stir onions into remaining batter in pan. Saute until soft. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly until bubbly. Stir in milk.

Cook and stir until sauce thickens, boil 1 minute. Stir in ham. Pour over layers in baking dish. Place cheese in slices over sauce. Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs over all. Cover and chill. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until bubbly and topping is golden. Serves 8 to 10.
