PECAN PIE SQUARES 
3 c. flour
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. butter
3/4 tsp. salt

FILLING:

4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Karo syrup
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Beat flour, sugar, butter and salt. Press firmly in bottom of pan. Bake about 20 minutes until light golden brown.

Mix eggs, sugar, Karo, butter, and vanilla until well blended. Add nuts. Pour over baked layer. Spread evenly. Bake until set, about 25 minutes. Cool. Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
