BAKED CHOP SUEY | |
1 c. rice, long grain 2 1/2 c. boiling water 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground pork 2 c. celery, diced 2 lg. onions, diced 1/2 bottle soy sauce 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup 1 soup can water 1 (14 oz.) can mushrooms Cover the rice with water and let stand while preparing remaining ingredients. Brown meats and add celery and onions. Let simmer 5 minutes; add soy sauce (which is salty, so no extra salt), mushroom soup, and mushrooms. Drain rice and mix with other ingredients. Put into casserole. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour (after 1/2 hour, stir well). Also good when made with all beef. |
