CHERRY NUT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. oil
3 beaten eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 can cherry pie filling (sm.)

Mix thoroughly by hand. Bake 1 hour in well greased and floured 9"x13" cake pan until done in center at 350 degrees.

WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING: Cook until thick 4 tablespoons flour and 1 cup milk; then cool. Add 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup butter. Beat until it looks like whipped cream.
