CORN FRITTERS 
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. melted bacon drippings
1 2/3 c. fresh corn (1 12-oz. can)
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
5 tbsp. milk

Sift dry ingredients together; add beaten egg to milk and melted drippings; mix with dry ingredients; beat until smooth, stir in corn. Drop by tablespoons into hot 375 degrees vegetable oil, fry until golden brown. Makes 24.
