BANANA BREAD 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2/3 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed over-ripe bananas
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla; cream well. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder; alternate stirring in the mashed bananas with about half the flour. Put the soda in the buttermilk and stir quickly until it foams up a little. Alternate the buttermilk with the rest of the flour; stirring ingredients.

Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes or until top cracks.
