MARINATE SLAW 
1 head cabbage, chopped
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. salad oil
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 med. onion, chopped
1 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. salt

Layer cabbage and onions in large shallow bowl. Pour sugar over top layer. Do not stir.

Heat vinegar, oil, salt, celery seed and mustard to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Do not stir until just before serving. The longer it sets, the better it gets.
